The National Police Federation (NPF), union for the RCMP, brought its KeepAlbertaRCMP speaking tour to Leduc last week as it continues to spread awareness about the provincial government potentially switching from the RCMP to a provincial police service. The presentation took place Feb. 14 at the Leduc Recreation Centre.
The Fair Deal Panel brought the suggestion to the government in 2020, with the province asking for a report to dig into the issue in 2021. The data was made public in November of 2021, and the NPF has been visiting communities across the province to address it and compare the findings with the NPF’s own research.
