National Police Federation brings pro-RCMP tour to Stony Plain

The National Police Federation (NPF) is on tour. On Friday, Jan. 7, the sole certified bargaining agent representing nearly 20,000 RCMP members across Canada made its case to residents of Stony Plain as to why Albertans should pressure the province to maintain Alberta’s RCMP.

“The biggest thing with this tour is to provide some factual data and information to the people of Alberta and to educate them on the issues and risks as far as potential costs and risks to public safety if the provincial government continues to go down this path towards a provincial police service,” said Kevin Halwa, a Regional Director with the NPF and 25-year veteran of the Alberta RCMP.
