Provincial police switch could do more harm than good, say NPF

The Government of Alberta’s proposal to transition to a provincial police service is being questioned by the National Police Federation (NPF), who have been travelling the province on their KeepAlbertaRCMP engagement tour, stopping in Airdrie on February 3.

NPF directors Jeff McGowan and Kevin Halwa spoke to an audience of about 20 people at the Airdrie Legion about the potential consequences of attempting such a transition, and the benefits of staying with the RCMP.
