Other Municipal Review Findings

Municipal policing reviews across Alberta have consistently shown that the RCMP is the most cost-effective choice available. After evaluating the costs, challenges, and benefits of municipal policing versus the Alberta RCMP, several municipalities, including Red Deer, Airdrie, Beaumont, and Olds, have opted to retain the RCMP as their preferred police service. In fact, repeated surveys indicate that 86% of Albertans in rural and RCMP-served areas want to keep the RCMP in their communities and support improvements
