One of the key planks of the Alberta Fair Deal plan is the notion of a provincial police force.
The idea is that, with a provincial police force akin to the likes of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) or the Sûreté du Québec, the Alberta government would have more control over policing in the province and could ultimately provide better service.
